As part of efforts geared towards bridging the resource gap for family planning commodity procurement and distribution, DGI Consult was engaged by the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) to conduct fiscal space analysis for family planning commodity financing at the national level and in Lagos and Kaduna States. The project is being funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).
The following are the objectives of the project:
- To identify opportunities for expansion of budget envelop to guarantee consistent fulfillment of Government’s annual financial commitments for procurement of family planning commodities;
- To identify opportunities to improve efficiency and budget utilization, programs collaboration and funding reprogramming; and
- To design appropriate family planning commodity financing methods for implementation at national and state levels.
