Development Governance International (DGI) Consult is set to host its first annual thought leadership forum, tagged Health System Emerging Solutions Forum, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, in Abuja.
The maiden edition of the forum is themed “Optimising Resources for Accelerated Progress Towards Universal Health Coverage.”
The forum will convene health system experts, policymakers, development partners, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders in the health sector to discuss the direction of action for maximizing resources for accelerated progress towards achieving universal health coverage in Nigeria.
The main objective of the forum is to address the paucity of dedicated platforms that showcase the effectiveness of health system interventions and innovations. By sharing transferable lessons learned and critical success factors, the forum aims to enable better understanding and replication of these interventions, ultimately leading to impact at scale.
“The inaugural edition of the forum sets the stage for future events that will continue to showcase impactful interventions and foster dialogue on health system strengthening. By bringing together experts and practitioners from around the world, the forum aims to contribute to the global discourse on achieving universal health coverage and improving health outcomes for all in the country,” Dr. Gafar Alawode, Managing Partner of DGI Consult, said.
Furthermore, DGI Consult, in collaboration with the Nigeria UHC Forum, will honor some notable stakeholders in recognition of their meritorious service, landmark achievements, and remarkable contributions to the advancement of universal health coverage in Nigeria with the UHC Excellence Awards.
The awards will be presented by the Chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Senator Ipalibo Harry Banigo, at the maiden edition of the Health System Emerging Solutions Forum.
Also at the event, DGI Consult will launch the Emerging Solutions Repository, an online database of promising innovations and initiatives in the health sector.
