The Commissioner for Health in Ekiti State, Dr Mojisola Yaya-Kolade, on Thursday reiterated the commitment of the Dr Kayode Fayemi administration to a malaria-free society.

Yaya-Kolade said the Ekiti State Government had demonstrated support for the control of malaria by providing free treatment for all, including children, pregnant women and the elderly.

She spoke in Ikere Ekiti during the official flag-off of the 2019 Malaria Elimination Campaign in the state.

Yaya-Kolade said, “The state government has identified and adopted very key interventions that are pivotal to addressing the burden of malaria in the state. The Fayemi administration is determined to ensure that Ekiti State does not lag behind in the delivery of high quality and effective health care for all residents”.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi, said the campaign was aimed at deepening community involvement and putting all hands on deck to rid Ekiti State of the dastardly effects of malaria.

Olomojobi charged mothers and pregnant women and all Ekiti residents to visit public health centres to access the free malaria treatment for a healthy and productive Ekiti.
