In order to fulfil its mandate of expanding health insurance coverage to the teeming population of Lagos State, the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) is set to reposition its regulatory structure and functions geared towards improving the quality of health insurance operations of the Agency. To enhance the Agency’s capacity to effectively discharge its regulatory duties, DGI Consult supported LASHMA to organize a 2-day stakeholder’s workshop. The workshop focused on defining the regulatory functions of LASHMA and strengthening its institutional capacity to discharge the functions while aligning the existing and newly defined regulatory responsibilities of the Agency with the expectations and diverse positions of relevant stakeholders. It also focused on charting a course of action for LASHMA to commence regulatory actions to ensure compliance with the Lagos State Health Scheme (LSHS) Law.
