Background
Development Governance Consult (DGI Consult) is a purpose-driven governance, institutional capacity-strengthening and research consulting firm. DGI Consult presently implements donor-funded projects in areas of health financing, especially health financing analytics, including fiscal space analysis, health costing and financial modelling and political economy analysis. DGI Consult also supports State Social Health Insurance Schemes and other government agencies to strengthen the institutional and operational frameworks that prepare them for effective operations. The firm also provides technical support in Human Resources for Health, health taxes and resource mobilization for health towards effective domestic resource mobilization for vertical disease programs, including integration of such programs into the benefits package of the health insurance schemes.
In anticipation of an upcoming immunization evaluation project, DGI Consult wishes to engage suitably qualified Immunization Specialists to support the implementation of the project.
Responsibilities
The Immunization Specialist will support the DGI Consult team in the following areas:
- Support the design of an immunization program evaluation project using appropriate methods
- Provide technical leadership to guide project implementation
- Provide quality assurance support throughout the project design and implementation phases
- Provide regular updates on project implementation status
- Support report writing process, including preparation of publishable manuscripts where applicable
Person specification
- University degree in medicine or other health-related fields. An advanced degree in public health is desirable.
- Proven experience in immunization program management and impact assessment.
- Strong knowledge of public health principles, vaccination protocols, and disease prevention strategies.
- Experience working collaboratively with the Ministry of Health, National Immunization Technical Advisory Groups (NITAGs), Expanded Programs on Immunization (EPIs), and other immunization stakeholders.
- Proficiency in mixed-method research methodologies and data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Organizational abilities, including the planning and execution of research workshops.
- Excellent writing skills.
