The overall objective of the technical support was to ensure that Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) has institutional capacity to expand access to essential care and provide health insurance for those seeking care in the State. The activities carried out include:
- Desk review of relevant documents of NASHIA to assess institutional capacity of the Agency; (b) development of implementation Roadmap and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Framework for NASHIA of documents to guide the start-up, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of NASHIA’s activities
- Development of agenda and training curriculum
- Capacity-building workshop for Staff of NASHIA and other government agencies involved in implementation of the State health insurance scheme as well as representatives of World Health Organization (WHO), labor unions, associations of health practitioners, and private medical practitioners
- Review and validation of the draft organizational documents such as operational guideline; legal framework; vision, mission, core values, mandate and organogram of NASHIA; and job descriptions.
