In the quest for improving funding for sexual and reproductive health (SRH), Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI)  engaged DGI Consult to conduct a detailed fiscal space assessment to uncover potential sources of additional funds for SRH in Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Rivers States. The FSA identified the factors responsible for low government expenditure on SRH services and commodities and the potential sources through which additional resources can be mobilized to adequately finance and expand access to quality and affordable SRH and family planning (FP) services in the states. Predictive financial scenarios and the impacts of each scenario in bridging the gap in SRH financing were also developed across the four states.

The findings and recommendations from the analysis were disseminated to relevant stakeholders in the four states. Key advocacy actions to be carried out were also discussed with the stakeholders to ensure that the recommendations are translated into implementable policy thrusts that could redefine the SRH financing landscape in the states.
