June 16 – 19, 2020
Gombe, Nigeria
Overview
The Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GoHealth) was established by the Gombe State Government through a law in 2019. GoHealth was established in line with the decentralization policy of National Health Insurance Scheme that paved the way for establishment of State Social Health Insurance Schemes (SSHIS) in Nigeria, in a bid to set the country on Universal Health Coverage trajectory. The goal of GoHealth is to ensure that all residents of Gombe state have access to effective, affordable and quality healthcare services, and to protect families from the financial hardship associated with medical cost.
The capacity building workshop is part of package of startup technical support designed to strengthen institutional capacity of GoHealth and guide the Agency to avoid technical paths that can constitute cogs in the wheel of its progress and place the Agency on a sound institutional and operational foundation.
