As part of efforts geared towards improving sustainable financing for TB, DGI Consult through the USAID-funded TB LON 1&2 Domestic Resource Mobilization (DRM) project engaged the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the eight supported States (Benue, Bauchi, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Nasarawa, Plateau and Taraba). The workshop was aimed at leveraging the crucial role of the CSOs in advocating for improved budgetary allocation and timely release of funds by government, engaging the private sector to mobilize additional resources, and engaging the political class towards placing TB on the political front burner ahead of the 2023 elections.

Through presentations and plenary sessions, the knowledge of the representatives of the CSOs was deepened on the objectives of the DRM stream of the TB LON 1&2 Project, TB funding gaps in the States and their roles in bridging the funding gaps through domestic resource mobilization. The session also stimulated commitments by the CSOs towards advocating for sufficient allocation and timely release of funds for TB and the strategies for engaging the health and central budget ministries, the private sector and the political class to bridge the funding gaps for TB in the states.
